Progression3 is in search of a Business Intelligence Developer & Administrator for a permanent role with our client in Montreal. This position is 100% remote.

In collaboration with the multiple teams throughout the company, the Business Intelligence Developer & Administrator will participate in the definition, development, and implementation of business intelligence solutions, to help the company evolve towards innovative decision support solutions. role you must have an excellent ability to understand and translate business needs into effective solutions, both at the business and technical levels.

Key Objectives:

  • Work within a team to design and develop complex data projects.
  • Develop advanced self-serve reports and dashboards as well as the design and development of underlying data structures.
  • Efficiently identify and solve project issues.
  • Evaluate the overall system performance of the Cognos environment to meet business needs and avoid downtime.
  • Develop and maintain complex Framework models.
  • Help to maintain a scalable BI environment that will support current and future business growth.
  • Help plan and schedule BI project deliverables, goals, and milestones.
  • Design and maintain technical documentation.
  • Strong organizational, presentation and customer service skills.
  • Be an active participant in the areas of mentorship and knowledge sharing.

Your qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of Cognos Reporting/Administration.
  • Solid understanding of business intelligence and data analytics with demonstrated experience working on BI projects.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of the Cognos Suite, including Framework manager.
  • Comprehensive data warehouse analysis and design experience, with deep knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and data modeling.
  • Ability to resolve escalated problems quickly and efficiently with proven success in handling conflicting demands and priorities effectively using a proactive approach to resolving problems.
  • Excellent time-Management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Highly proficient in reading and writing advanced SQL queries and experience with at least one programming language such as Java, C++, and Python.
  • Bilingual English and French an asset. This is a permanent position, 35 hours per week.
