Progression3 is in search of an enterprise network administrator for a 6-month contract with our client in Saskatchewan. This position is 100% remote.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Anticipate, investigate and resolve problems in systems and services. Analyze patterns and trends to ensure preventative measures are in place to minimize probability of reoccurrence.
  • Investigates escalated incidents and provides resolution.
  • Monitors the application and compliance of security administration procedures and reviews information systems for actual or potential breaches in security. Ensures breaches in security are thoroughly investigated in a timely manner and any system changes required to maintain security are implemented.
  • Provides advice and guidance on security strategies to manage risk and ensure adoption and adherence to standards. Conducts security risk assessments, business impact analysis and accreditation on complex information systems.
  • Plans, designs and architects, develops, implements, maintains and improves the infrastructure components; defines functional requirements and specifications; produces project proposals; develops technical standards and procedures; develops the system design; develops system and user acceptance tests; installs and upgrades systems; performs post-implementation reviews.
  • Evaluates new system software, reviews software updates and identifies those that require action. Plans and conducts the installation, testing and configuration of new versions of system software. Advises on the correct and effective use of system software.
  • Plans and implements maintenance and installation work, including the building and configuration of infrastructure components. Implements agreed infrastructure changes and maintenance routines. Configures tools to automate the provisioning, testing and deployment of new and changed infrastructure.
  • Reviews information in conjunction with service level agreements to identify any capacity, performance or availability issues and specifies required changes. Provides advice on the design of service components including designing in flexible and scalable capacity.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to understand business requirements. Identifies, evaluates and recommends options, implementing if required.
  • Creates testing plans and the restoration of all infrastructure components including operating systems and infrastructure services for disaster recovery services. Recommends and implements technologies to improve the recovery point objective and the recovery time objective.
  • Contributes to the creation and maintenance of architecture, policy, standards, procedures and documentation.
  • Provides consulting services to non-IT technology teams.
  • Provides direction and mentoring to less experienced team members.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ related business and/or systems experience.
  • SDWAN, WSA, Route/Switch, ISE, ASA’s/FirePower
  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Provide on-call technical support, be able to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge skill and competence will be considered.
